Post Treatment

Bruising, swelling, redness, and tenderness may occur in the treatment area and may last for a few days. Not all patients experience these symptoms, but please note that these effects can occur and are normal. If you experience persistent pain, extensive bruising or swelling, or redness lasting more than three days, please contact our office.

The treatment site may appear uneven, distorted, or firm as a result of swelling and the regenerative nature of the product. This is normal and typically improves within 1–2 weeks as the product integrates and swelling subsides. If these symptoms persist beyond this timeframe, please contact our office.

Within the first 24 hours after treatment, an ice pack may be applied for a few minutes at a time to the treated areas to help reduce swelling and bruising. Do not apply ice directly to the skin.

If you have had a nerve block, avoid eating or drinking hot liquids for 2–4 hours.

Avoid touching, massaging, or applying pressure to the treated area for 6 hours following treatment, unless otherwise instructed by your provider. After that, the area may be gently washed with soap and water.

You may gently cleanse the treated area with a mild cleanser after 6 hours. Makeup may be applied a few hours after treatment if no complications are present.

Avoid taking aspirin or blood-thinning agents such as Advil, Motrin, Aleve, or other medications containing ibuprofen for 3 days following the procedure, unless these medications have been prescribed for you due to a heart condition or other medical condition and your physician has instructed you not to stop them.

Until the initial redness and swelling have resolved, avoid exposure to intense heat, including saunas, hot tubs, and direct sun exposure, as well as extreme cold.

Avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol for at least 24 hours after treatment to help minimize swelling and reduce the risk of bruising.

Sleep with your head elevated for 2 nights to help minimize swelling.

Avoid additional facial treatments, including facials, lasers, microneedling, or massage, in the treated area for at least 1–2 weeks or until cleared by your provider.

Results from AlloClae develop gradually as your body responds to the treatment. It may take several weeks to months to see optimal results, and additional treatments may be recommended.
